Making time for writing while you’re reading… or reading while you’re writing?

If I had more time, I’d read more.

If I had more time, I’d write more.

One good thing about writing is that you have to then read what you wrote. In essence, that means that you’re writing and reading. However, it is essential to read what other people write, too. It is vital to your own writing that you read within the genre that you write in. But don’t stop there. Devour every book you come across. I try to read in multiple genres, as much as possible.

Where I lack is writing in my blog! I’ve been so busy concentrating on writing my novels that I’ve neglected my blog about the books I’ve been reading. That could be because the books I’ve been reading haven’t been published yet. As soon as they are, I’ll post those reviews!

Okay, back to reading and writing. (And editing, and re-writing, and re-reading all that.)

Another Blog I read

I’m always reading, whether it be from a book in my hand, or an e-book, or something online, if I’m not writing, I’m reading.

I’m writing today about another blog I read, ALL THE TIME. It is by someone that I know personally, but I just love her ideas and opinions on things. I think everyone should check it out, not only because she’s great, but because of everything she stands for. A beautiful human being right here, y’all!

Being part of the solution.

Being part of the solution.

I often have a hard time gathering my thoughts and feelings. It has taken me time to write and rewrite this. I wanted to get my thoughts together so that I could hopefully get my message across clearly.

Me and my family will stand united against racism.

The events that have been taking place over the past weeks have proven that our history is not settled. The ugly things that happened in the past are still very much so a part of our present. The wounds created by so many have not been healed. If we want to thrive as a community, as a country, as part of this world, we have to come together and remove racism. Rid it from the earth once and for all.

Each individual has a choice to make, they can be a part of the solution or ignore what is happening and deny that their actions or lack thereof make a difference. I will stand on the side of the solution. Racism is not a naturally occurring thing, it is a learned behavior. I have always taught my children that it is wrong. Inclusion and diversity should be in every aspect of our lives.

Many things are unjust, but being judged and having horrendous things happen to you and your family solely based on the color of your skin is outrageous. It is something that needs to end.

Many horrendous things need to end, but this is the fight we are fighting now. If God made everyone, everyone should be treated the same way. If evolution produced everyone, everyone should be treated the same way. No matter where we all come from, we should all be treated with equal respect. Love and empathy should be part of all our actions.

I don’t care what the color of your skin is, I don’t care what your sexual preference is, I don’t care what you look like or how much you weigh, you show me respect, and I will do the same for you. I will not judge you for the choices you make with YOUR body. I will be kind to the homeless, I will be good to all children, I will honor my father, mother, and my family. I will ‘love thy neighbor.’ I will stand with the oppressed. I will love ALL, no matter the color of their skin!
